So I have had this clutch for a year and there is probably less than 5k miles on 4 track passes. Was out tunning the car. Had the boost set 33psi on Hx40.. rolled in to 3rd doing about 30mph.. As soon as the boost hit car took off.. I let off the throttle cause something was wrong. Felt like I broke a shift rail.. Couldn't pull it out of 3rd.. Towed the car home pulled out the tranny and everything still looked good. Nothing broken. I pulled the clutch and this is what I found. Not sure if I should send it back to ACT see if I can get a new pressure plate out the deal. I have been messing with these cars since 98. I have always used ACT clutches never had a problem.

yeah I stoped the car as soon as I knew something was up. I just got off the phone with ACT.. i emailed them some pics. The called me back Fast!! I have to send them my old assembly. They said they have never seen there presssue plates do that. They are paying for the shiping of the clutch and are going to be sending me a new one. now that is customer service.

Sucks that you had to go through that, but you got a new clutch out of it...!!

Good luck with the tune when you get everything back together!!

Hell yeah! ACT FTW!

I have had one 2600PP do this to me, and had another one get really damn close as it was radially fractured throught the friction surface of the PP.

Mine retained itself when it shattered also. If I remember correctly, it was fairly new with way less than 3K miles.

This was back around 2002-2004 on the old design.
