Resolved 1G Oil squirter delete plug depth

Not looking for a debate on right or wrong... I have my reasons

I know the pitch is m12x1.25 but I need the proper mm depth so as to not block anything that should be blocked.

If I’m a betting man, I’d assume that the part number provided in this thread means it’s a 12mm long plug: 6bolt oil squirter delete

You may also consider M12 x 1.25 oil drain plugs available from your local auto parts or hardware store, which come in as short as 12mm lengths. A quick Google search shows Dorman 090-038 ought to be about right, lengthwise. What I don’t know is whether the heads for a regular hex cap screw interferes with anything in the rotating assembly. From that standpoint, it may be safer to go with something like the option in the link above.

They would be shorter... i found the perfect ones.. even came with crush washers... so generous red loctite and good to go!

As long as we're talking about oil squirters, would anybody care to make a guess at what size hole would flow oil at about the same rate as one of these 1g squirters? I've never had an oil squirter just lying around loose, so have never had a good look at one.

Coming back to this since I was reminded I never elaborated

I use small 10-15mm lengths of threaded rod, I do this so I can peen them in. I’ve seen squirters and plugs fall out of race engines revving really high.
