Resolved 1g - NA cluster in Turbo car?

Though I'm not positive, I do not believe the tach would work. The 1.8L models have a unique tachometer part number, they are scaled differently (8k limit versus the 9k limit of the 2.0L models), and the signals are sourced and filtered differently. There's just not enough going for it to assume that it would work.

Would love to hear from someone who's actually tried it if there's anyone out there who has.

Edit: it works. See post #11 below.

I have it installed but haven’t tested it due to being busy with clients cars and getting fuel pump back from magnafuel
I hope I can use it with my 2.4, the car revs so quick it’s hard to see the tach 😂

Joe Bucci runs a non turbo cluster in his fwd and his tach works but he’s on a different ems.

Good stuff. It's easy enough to change out and try, not the end of the world if you give it a go and it doesn't do what you want.

"So you're saying there's a chance!"

That’s encouraging but I am running out dated AEM V1. I follow his channel and didn’t even notice that thank you sir

No problem. Hope it works out. Good news is they’re fairly cheap. Let us know if it works.

You will be the first to let every one know if they are compatible or not. :thumb:
Of course, best of luck to you brother!

Swap went well and tach works( not sure how accurate ) turbo is leaking oil now so I haven’t tried to verify it yet.

Solution
Thanks for the update. Hopefully you get the turbo situation sorted out.
Thank you for the encouragement as it’s frustrating. It Needs replaced or rebuilt. I want to go bigger but that will require a different ecu and tune along with turbo upgrade 😔
It’s a gt35r

Gotta love you guys for giving a resolution to the question, that's what make this place SO special :thumb:
