Ok, so my exhaust manifold had a crack from way back in the day and now that I'm getting this car back together I need to replace it. I've read the Evo 3's will work, but I haven''t found any. The Dorman's are the next brand I looked for and no luck on that one either. Now I'm looking at the FP Cast manifold. I'd rather get something new than another OEM that may be cracked or will crack down the road. Any negatives with going with the FP manifold? Seems like everything should bolt up without mods. My 1990 GST is all stock and will get some mods eventually but nothing over the top.

Found this on Summit's site. ATP looks like OEM replacement, anyone have any experience with this brand?

The Dorman casting is similar to the 1G, which is less desirable than the 2G or EVO3 The reviews I read were not altogether great. On the one hand, it’s new so it shouldn’t be cracked and ought to work well. On the other hand, the casting doesn’t lend itself to a super long life.

The ATP part number needed is 101138 for TD05 turbos (not the TD04 turbo from the 1G automatics, which is what you linked) and is unavailable everywhere as far as I am aware - and I looked for months. Neither the 2G or EVO3 manifolds are available, either.

The consensus about the FP manifold is that it’s better than a cracked / leaking manifold but it’s really overkill and not sufficiently utilized in a stock or lightly modified car. Anything less than and including an Evo III 16G does not see the full benefits of the FP manifold. The FP manifold also does not allow the OEM heat shield to bolt up so you’ve got to figure something out there

I’ve actually been through this whole thing myself and am going back to a used 2G manifold because I don’t want to deal with the Dorman option.

^^^ This or if you can't source a 2g on ebay or in the classifieds the FP manifold would work as a "stock" replacement but is going to be a bit more costly. When I installed mine it did seem to cause the turbo to spool slightly more slowly but that could just be in my head.
