1G engine rebuild

I haven't been here in a long time, but I own a 93 Talon DL with the 1.8L SOHC. I have recently had some unfortunate issues with the car and had a rod seize on me while in Minneapolis. The car had 175,900 miles and, except for the engine, no issues.

I am having the engine rebuilt totally and will be picking it up on Friday. Wagamon Brothers in Minneapolis did the work. They told me the car runs really sweet now. I can't wait to drive her again. The rebuild is costing me $3500 and change.

I should be able to drive her for another 175,000 miles and may never need another car as long as I live. Time for some performance mods now that the car will be worth spending the money on.

id wait to the car is broken in then in them do some mods
id start with basics mods... no aircan, taking the silencer out of the maf and k&n filter, then a intake, any 2.0 non turbo intake from 89-94 will work just fine. then a 2.5in catback would make you some decent gains with hi flow cat. if you still want more, a peformance clutch with more grip would be good and a lightnend flywheel will make it rev alot faster... then on to ignition theres a faq on how to make an external coil with msd ignition for the 1.8 at www.dsm1eights.com ... after that a walpro 190 fuel pump would keep the fuel presure up and depending on what they did to your engine when rebiulding, 2.0 non turbo injectors will help.... just somethings to get u started

Well, the rebuild of my 1.8L is complete and I have her home again. My, but it is sweet to drive this car again. No performance or driving issues any more. Wagamon Brothers of Minneapolis did a magnificent job for me.
