I have read a lot of "controversy" regarding bov venting to the atmosphere. I want to vent mine, for my own reasons, but I don't want to change from the 1g. Is this possible? :confused: Any help would be appreciated, and no flaming, please.

what should i buy a vented one or not and why? i like the turboxs rfl one but i dont want to buy it and have it make my car run like crap.. i have a 97 gsx with a injen intake and K&N filter thanks for your help
 
there are a ton of threads on this. You should prolly not vent, b/c it can cause problems but some people do it ok.
 
I had some question bout venting the bov back into the intake and to the atmosphere. Please let me know which is better for performance, or if it doesn't matter.
 
Whoa....prepare your flame suit ;) Venting only sounds cool...it will not have any performance gains with a Karmann style MAS.

Off topic: Do you live in CH or go to school there?
 
I go to skool at unc but I'm originally from raleigh, not too far. O yeh and I found out where we are staying, but I forgot wat its called though haha. Its a bad ass place though and its like 85 a nite w/ like 4-5 bed in a room and its like 7-8 people so i think a person only pays like 10-13 each. Anywayz, so I need to vent mine back into the intake??? Cause I had mine vented to atmo. for a while. Let me know.
 
Ok i have standard HKS BOV(looks like 1g) venting, i want to recircle again but i have no recircle tube. I was thinking of getting this:

A 3" intake and run that hose to the BOV, the Intake "does not have connections for the valve cover or the charcoal cannister. You will need a breather filter for the valve cover if you don't already have one"

What are these things?
Does dejon include them with their intake??

dejon does not have holes for those other hoses. though, i still lives with my folks and they're super anal about being legal, especially for sh!t like emissions. i just drilled holes into the tube myself and sealed the hoses back in.
 
drill a hole in the dump tube adn run the emissions line there
the valve cover breather hose throw a $2 fram fuel filter on it and let it dangle

or just run both of them to the ground, they dont do shit anyway. actually i recommend doing so to the valve cover breather since it gunks up your intake with oily shit.
 
oh i just got my recircle tube back is it ok to fit it to my HKS BOV and back to my intake?

Ok one problem, the tube on my HKS BOV is much smaller than on the stock BOV, and i don't think it will seal properly when i put it back on with clamps, what can i do?
 
ok i know some of you are gonna flame me for wanting to have a ricey psssh noise but here the story. i put on a new dave brode UICP and a 1G BOV on my 2g. well i guess we forgot to tighten the hose clamp on the bov from the dump tube, cause soon as i started driving i was getting a loud ass psssh every time i shifted. i mean like huge loud, i was like holy shit thats amazing. well i started idling shitty and im like oh great more problems. i didnt worry about it that night and the next day i pop my hood before i go to work, and the tube is hanging off the BOV. hence my shitty idle and stalling.

i know its ricey, but that one night of driving with that loud psssh made me love it, then when i reconnected the tube i hardly make any noise due the fact my t-25 is pretty much dead and i have oil residue in my IC piping. is there any way i can like half vent so i can not stall but still have a decent pssh noise? i know venting BOVs has been beat to death but i searched first and found nothing about trying to split the vent, what if i blocked off the part from the dump tube, and then only blocked off like half coming from the bov
 
No, no, and don't forget; no.

Half of the air that has already been metered=still not ALL the air that has been metered. Bad.

Restrictions in BOV return=Bad.
 
what the f*ck does doing someting stupid like venting the BOV have to do with looking good? your facetiousness is uncalled for dumbass...........

no, no.. and no one more time.. ok, once more.. no.. for one thing, leaving that recirculation hose uncapped is bad, bad bad.. you are pulling in unmetered air.. (lean mixture..) you cant do it, so just forget it.. either be a ricer, or be a real dsm owner and recirculate it.
