what does it mean to vent your blow off valve into the atomosphere and what performance does it give you

It means that the bov is not putting the air back into the intake after the bov opens. Insead it lets the air go into the atmosphere. As far as performance if you are still using a mitsu mas air you will only lose performance due to the air that you are letting out was already metered.

the hell. dont you people search?

Venting the BOV to the atmosphere. Thats exactly what it does. Instead of recirculating back into the intake you blow it off to the atmosphere (to make it louder). No performance gains, actually draw-backs from running vented. Don't do it.

Venting the BOV to the atomosphere is pointless. It does exactly what AWD and Mike said it does. If you REALLY want to do it though you could spend $100+ on a MAFT. Its not worth it just for the swishing sound. :dsm:
