BOV venting to atmosphere?

I know how having a BOV venting to the atmosphere can make your engine run verry rich on RPM droping, but does it hurt or do anything other than run rich? Like stalling or stuttering.

If it's a first gen it will have running problems at partial throttle high rpm's (stuttering, bucking). It also will slow your car down a small amount. In addition, do it often enough and it will cause your CAT to go bad a tad sooner, but it does make a really cool noise.

Ok I have a 2g but anyways...I vented to the atmosphere and it sounded great, but my car ran like shit i.e idling problems, any driving other than full throttlesucked, very bad gas mileage and the list goes on. It also made my car much slower so after 1 mile I was done I recirculated and that was the end of that.

With 2G's the stock BOV are weak and basicly when you vent it's like having a big boost leak. 1G's have a good BOV so have a better chance of not running like crap. But each car is different so test it out and see for yourself.

take off the tube that goes from the BOV to the intake. I vented mine and it stalled when i came to a stop and my car ran like poop.

Dont vent PERIOD, unless you have the proper mods.

i have a 2g talon and vent it into the atmosphere and haven't had any problems

HKS SSQV vents to atmosphere with zero problems...cept a CEL

i hate to state the obvious, but make sure you all are plugging the hole in the inake when you are venting. this will definately make probs if you don't. i'm only saying this cause i actually know a guy who didn't.

i've got an RFL, car runs fine, no CEL. just had to put in the supplied washers to make it close quicker.
