I have read a lot of "controversy" regarding bov venting to the atmosphere. I want to vent mine, for my own reasons, but I don't want to change from the 1g. Is this possible? :confused: Any help would be appreciated, and no flaming, please.
 
with my car i try to vent it cause i love the sound but the
car runs bad. the vac is like a 10 sometimes and i dies alot.
what can i do to the car so that i can vent it with no problems

Do you have the stock BOV because it will run like garbage if you try to vent.
 
yes.. like everybody mentioned above.. you will only run rich INBETWEEN shifts or i assume when you let off thte throttle and let the bov sound..

maybe with an safc you can tune to make the car to run a lil richer?

:confused: weird. I just installed my A/F gauge recently, I'm stoic when I shift tho.......everything else looks right...oscillating reading normal driving and at idle, rich at WOT......
 
Yeah, using the BOV to make your car run richer is the wrong fix for the problem :) Like trying to hammer a loose nail with an orange.

If you're running lean so you think, there's another problem somewhere that you have to figure out. These cars when working correctly run pretty well, so I think you have a problem somewhere else you've got to find out.

i have just bought my 95 talon awd and have been upgrading everything but the turbo accesories so far since i dont wanto screw anything up. well when i bought the car, i found out its venting to the atmosphere, the vent flare off the bov is cracked off and there is no tube. it is a 2g bov and a pos. i am getting a 1g bov for now with the adaptor plate, so where exactly does the vent tube from the bov go?, i know it goes somewhere to the intake, but where exactly!? thanks a lot.
 
What does the car have on it for an intake pipe? With the stock pipe, and some of the aftermarket ones, the fitting for the BOV return is on the top of the tube, after the MAF but before the turbo.
 
My car ran like #### when I was vented. The only reason that I vented was the new UICP could not work with the hose to the intake. Had to buy a longer piece of hose from Pep Boys Racing!:dsm:
