I have read a lot of "controversy" regarding bov venting to the atmosphere. I want to vent mine, for my own reasons, but I don't want to change from the 1g. Is this possible? Any help would be appreciated, and no flaming, please.

I vent with a 1g bov, although I'm automatic so I don't really think it makes much of a difference venting to the intake because the bov doesnt go off between gears :p

i vent to the atm except when i go to the track. then i take 5 min and put the recirc piece on the HKS

oh yea, i dont have a single problem venting to the ATM. guess my car likes it

I have a Greddy Type S and on the weekends I like to vent, but I get pi$$ poor gas mileage (180 miles per tank) and a choppy ride. During the week, I hook it back up and I get a good smooth ride, and about 240 miles per tank. Just my .02 of experience. :D

That extra bit of noise is worth sh!tty gas mileage, occasional bucking, bad idle, and overall loss of power? I dunno, I guess my car would be considered rice by most but venting a BOV to the atmosphere on a car with a MAS is the riciest mod ever.

see mine doesn't buck, stall, idle bad and gets great mileage.

i'd also like to know how i'm losing power while the bov is closed . if it seals it seals, doesn't matter if its vented or not. i can run big psi through my 16g with absolutely no problems related to the bov.

I do get bad gas mileage(250/tank), venting ATM using TurboXS Type H34.... sometimes its worth the vent, my car dont buck, stall, or rough idle, checked my plugs and its kinda dark(rich). Sucks when going side by side with a cop on the light though... i think i lost power venting too:(

I have a 1995 I have herd that the 1995's dont have problems venting. I know alot of people with 95's and no problems, just a thought!

Thats a risk I'll think I'll take. I'am looking for a loud bov. But don't want to lose performance. Think I'll get a XS RFL. Is it Realy Freakin Lound? And how much boost you runnin?

I was thinking about getting a turboxs h34, but i was wondering if i could vent to atmosphere or recirulate it? is that possible >?? thanks

i've got my H34 vented with no problems. it's the exact same BOV as the RFL, except designed to be plumbed back into the intake. the RFL just has a horn where the plumbing connector is located.

if you vent it, you'll need a bunch of washers... the RFL also comes with a stiffer spring than the 34, but a few extra washers will make up for that. if you do vent, do this... floor it in like 3rd gear at about 45. let it build up to full boost. then let off completely (it should sound about like a whip cracking :D) and IMMEDIATELY floor it again. most people's car will bog at this point, or stutter a little bit. i think i'm lucky and my car doesn't stutter at all :) 99% of the people that vent without first having a VPC will experince the stuttering.

or you can do like i did - and ask turbo XS to send you a spring from a RFL for your H34 - they sent mine free

I wish I'd done that-- I didn't know until just now the springs were different. I'm using 4 washers on my H34-- does that sound normal? How many are others of you using?

When i bought my car a month ago, it already had Greddy intercooler piping and a Greddy Type-S BOV. It vents to the atmosphere, I don't have any driveability problems, but i do get pretty crappy gas mileage, does this really cut your power venting to the atmosphere? I never heard any of this stuff before, i thought it was just about if you wanted the BOV to be louder or not? Somebody go into more detail about the pros and cons please.

venting back into the intake tube w/ my properly adjusted greddy type-s gives a beautiful, LOUD CHIRP... i see no reason at all to vent to the atmosphere, when my closed circuit can be haerd 100 yards away np.

I used to try and vent the stock bov and I had problems with it sputtering and trying to blowoff when it wasn't supposed to. But now I have the greddy type-s and I vent all day long with no problems....

Well I tried venting today just for the hell of it, and the car drove fine it usually drove like crap.

I have a T28 with the stock fuel system, should I vent to Atmosphere to run a little richer(well I heard it makes you run richer). would It help till I upgrade the fuel system, I'm running 15-16psi right now.

i believe, from experience that the car runs liekc rap not because of the richer fuel but because the MAS sees no air recirculating back into it which may cause a richer fuel level
