1g bov leak...maybe??

about two days ago i was droppin my buddy off and on the way home the car felt really suggish. when i stepped on it a little i got to about 2k and the turbo started sputtering like crazy. i hav absolutely no acceleration and thats and understatement. the sound it makes sounds like the boost is going almost straight thru the bov into the recirc tube. instead of hearing the turbo spool up you hear a constant pssshhhhh and its coming from the bov. its a 1g bov on a 2g eclipse. stock boost.

Do a boost-leak test and find out.

It happened to my car at about 100K I heard the BOV bypassing a ton of boost, and it sounded like a constant release of air pressure. Do a boost leak test as described in the FAQ and it should pin-point your problem.

yeah no doubt do a BLT. when I did mine I could hear it pop open at 18 psi or so.

yea im gonna get the stuff for a boost leak tester tomorrow but any ideas how to fix it when i find the leak.

What? If it's the 1g BOV, just replace it. WTF Whatever the leak is, address it accordingly. We can't type something over a forum and fix your car. Use your head when you figure it out.

What leads you to think the 1g BOV is adjustable? You have a lot of learning to do. I mean, A LOT.

Settle down man, he knows he has a lot of learing to do thats why he's here asking questions respectfully. OP you're on the right track in suspecting the BOV and getting the leak tester as you stated. Dont just replace parts until you've tested them to make sure they have failed, you probably already know that just commenting on some other peoples suggestions. found the leak. it wasnt the bov it was a coupler in the intercooler piping. fixed it. car works great. thanks guys

did you check for any leaks, like maybe taking a look at your i/c piping

NM i see you did find it, that happened to me when i first got my car and put the greddy I/C piping on and i didnt tighten it enough.
