Boost leak Maybe

I have a 1993 eclipse gsx and i think i have a boost leak because my vacuum is only -12 and I heard it should be at -18 or -20. I did a boost leak test but found no leaks, do you think i have a boost leak and where do you think it would be.

Hold it a little closer to the computer.... I can't quite see it.

Seriously though, you might just have a bad guage. Maybe try swapping in another guage to see if your vacuum readings change any. Are you sure you performed the boost leak test properly? http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/new...ester-merged.html?highlight=boost+leak+tester

How many psi did you run for your boost leak test? Does the car have big cams? Maybe you just have a leak in the line going to the gauge.

That'd still register on a boost leak test. I'm betting he did the test wrong or has some cams..

Vacuum is created behind the throttle plate. So if it's a vacuum problem check around there. Intake manifold gasket, injector seals, throttle body and tb gasket, etc... Where is your boost gauge hose tapped from?

Check throttle body shaft seals and mounting gaskets. Also i have 272 cams and my vacuum is between -13 and -15.

vacuum leak != boost leak

Do a boost leak test with the crank turned to the proper position and the throttle plate open w/ all the spark plugs removed from the motor.
