1998 FWD talon 420a motor 5spd what transmission

was their only one 5spd manual tranny for the 420a's.... about to order a clutch kit and just wanted to make sure the A578 is the tranny I've got.

as mentioned in the title I've got a 1998 fwd non turbo talon with a 420a motor in it.

p.s. to any that make fun of this motor it's got 260,000 km's on it and runs like a champ.... go figure.

Only one 5 speed manual available for the 420a eclipse/talon and it is the NV-T350. The clutch in your car is a modular clutch. meaning the flywheel, disc, and pressure plate are sold as an assembly, unless it has been converted in the past by a previous owner.

ok that makes sense as the Sachs clutch I found was a complete assembly and it explains why the clutch is so expensive from all the local retailers I've asked.

that said I'm not sure if I have found the correct clutch then as the claim in the Sachs details is that it's for an a578 tranny.

I'll have to take a look at crossreferencing to make sure I guess but again thanks for the help.

are the NV-T350 and the a578 one in the same....?

was also wondering if their was a comparable Neon manual tranny that I could cross reference for a possibly less expensive clutch kit.

man always at 95% finish I start to lose interest..... just want to get past this daily driver so I can finish getting the parts for the AWD turbo.
