Hey guys, I just recently bought a 95 gst that had bad rod bearings and main bearings so i was just thinking of buying a used motor to swap in to get it running for now and build the broken one later on. My question is, i found a 7bolt out of a 97 with 90k miles on it but the car was automatic. What type of modification would I have to do to get it to work? or will it all line up? Or should i just rebuild my current 7bolt? Thanks, Dave.

It will bolt right there, any engine can be bolted to auto or manual transmission. You just have to keep your clutch and flywheel to bolt on the new engine instead of the flexplate.

+1 Hes right. Itll bolt up to the tranny and work fine. The only concerns are when switching awd to fwd and vice versa but thats tranny only, doesnt concern engine at all.

Alright cool, also I heard there a little difference in HP ratings with the auto motors compared to the stick one. Is this true? Not too concerned about power I just really wanna get the car running. I have about $1200 to spend on a motor.
