2G 1997 Eclipse Spyder GSX 2.4L (ICM)

I bought this car a week ago for pretty cheap and know it runs (at least it apparently ran a few months ago). The Haynes manual has been a bit of help on a few occasions, but I still can’t find the Ignition Control Module. Right now it’s a classic case of CNS. I have air and fuel, but no spark. I plan on replacing the coils eventually, I still haven’t tested them for now. The next thing I need to check is the ICM, though unfortunately I don’t know where it’s located. Any help is welcome.

Was this originally a GS or GST model? Knowing that will assist anyone trying to help you. If it was originally a GS, then we would need to know the original and current transmission type due to variations in wiring harnesses.

The turbo cars use an ECU to drive a power transistor that powers the two coils.

The ECU is in the center console behind the radio. You access it by removing the carpet on footwell sides.
The Coils and Power Transistor attach to the Intake Manifold between the plenum and the head.

The ECU gets it's timing on a 2G from two sensor, the locations vary between the early and late models. A crank sensor on the block by the crankshaft under the lower timing belt cover and a cam sensor that it either under the intake cam sprocket on the 95-96 engines or on the transmission side of the intake cam on the 97-99 engines.
