So I have a 97 eclipse spyder GS with the 2.4 SOHC and changing the sensor on mine fixed it for the first start on the new sensor but when shut it off and try to start again it will throw the P0340 code for CAS after a few seconds and car will die. I just cant figure why it keeps doing it even with a brand new sensor.

where did you buy the new one? the sensor could be bad out of the box. autozone is the worst about selling shit that doesn't work.

I am a technician and the market is flooded, absolutely flooded with BS parts. Mainly Chinese with cheaper materials, no r&d, at a price point to get suckers to take the chance on it. If a car company doesn’t use that manufacturer, don’t buy it.
