Hello, i’m actually new to building 4g63 motors what i have is a 1g on a Galant GTi (4G63 N/T) my question is with the ignition timing i have what is called a hesitation slag whenever i put my foot on the pedals. Is there any way i can adjust the cam angle sensor to it’s standard position without the light and base only on how it is positioned on my cylinder head?

You can tweak it left or right a bit from center, but without a timing light to verify the base timing calibration at the crank, it will be off.

Thanks, also are there any danger for setting the sensor too retard or too advanced. Is there a photo of which what the standard positions are these at coming fresh from factory?

Too much retard is just making more heat with no torque, but too much advance will feel great, but will knock and beat up your bearings and pistons.

Go get or borrow a timing light - 25$ on amazon - come on - do it right.
