i need to know if it is worth buying a 1995 eagle talon tsi awd with either a spun rod or main bearing we came down to that conclusion ### it knocks in first after 2500rpms and second after 3000 or so rpms but 3rd n so on r fine and how hard r they to replace in a drive way without taking the engine out and no power tools please help i want this car so bad so i need to no if it worth it to buy ok thanks

That isnt really a job that you can do without removing the motor, and your also don't know what else has gone wrong with the motor just by the sounds it is making I mean you can get a really good guess but until you tear it down you really don't know for sure.

2g are prone to crankwalk, this is how most stock motors die, with a spun rod bearing. Keep driving it and it will lock up. Count on at the very least crank main/rod bearings, resized/new rods, new rings, gasket set, timing belt, probably a line hone depending on how bad the block is messed up from the crank moving forward. Ehh, you might as well count on a complete rebuild, I wouldn't half ass it with these cars, or you will be rebuilding it again in a year. Yes the motor has to come out, no other way around it.

Well to do it in the car would be hellish. The way the service cover wraps around the block it would be next to impossible to unbolt the bedplate to even get at the crankshaft.

Maybe with a stretched out z shaped wrench with a 90 degree turn for the box on the end, maybe. But the turning radius to get the bedplate bolts to turn would cause a wrench to go into the flywheel. Not really seeing this happen without pulling the motor.

Sorry if thats not what you wanted to hear, its just the truth. If its a good deal I would still buy the car and swap the motor.
