hi i recently have spun a rod bearing, ok so i know that i am going to have to pull the engine and rebuild it. as of right now all my internals are bone stock, im running a 16g turbo. the thing is idk exactly everything i need to have done so heres a list of things i had in mine, let me know if theres something else i should add or change or something i just dont need. thanks!!

first off: cometic headgasket, arp head/main studs, arp rod bolts, acl main/rod bearings, wiseco pistons, eagle or manley H beam rods, eagle or manley crank or just get a new stock crank?, new oil pump, all new gaskets(what brand)?.

machine the block: bore, hone, hot tanked.

let me know what u think im sure theres some more stuff but you tell me LOL thanks

Good start the rods are going to come with arp rod bolts. If you get a cometic gasket the surface needs to be smooth as a babies ass. So get the head and block decked. Get your crank checked out. ExtremePSI has the whole gasket kit for like 250. I also used a cometic head gasket and now I will have a extra one I guess because im going to use the oem gasket kit. Check out your oil pump it may be fine.

ok sweet good to know so i dont buy an extra set LOL. what gasket kit is it on extremepsi? are forged internals neccesary or just oem pistons/rods? so just reuse my crank if possible? also about how much is it going to cost to get block and head fully machined??

im tryin to get a good example on exactly what ill be doing and what ill be needing before i even start this project... decisions that i need help with LOL

I prefer to use oem gaskets.
do you plan on a camshaft upgrade.

well i havent really thought of upgrading the cams not yet anyway im mainly focused on getting it back on the road again without having to rebuild the bottom end anytime soon. i am all for ripping off the head later on to build it up but for now just mainly focused on the block other then arp studs and cometic headgasket. idk if this is advised so please share your opinion.

EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts Forged internals depends on what your looking for. Do you want to make a lot of power down the line, or do you just want this thing back up and running ? If you got the cash go ahead and get forged if you know your going to want to have fun with it. But factory pistons and rods can get you some pretty decent power to for just a daily driver. I cant really give you a price on machining. I called a local machine shop here in MD they just do stock rebuilds mostly and they were going to charge me 650 for everything. (Hot tank, Bore, Mic the crank and polish,) Then i asked him about the surface for a MLS head gasket and he told me to just deck the head and not the block, so that was the deal breaker on him touching my block. Then I went to JAM here in MD He did everything plus got me some freeze plugs, align bore, ARP main studs, and he did a stock rebuild on my head. the total price was 1400. I didnt mind paying for his good quality work or his knowledge.

What are your goals? Sounds like a stock rebuilt 6bolt would be more then surfice for you an the power level of a 16g or even a larger Turbo....

sounds good maybe throw in some acl rod and main bearings. and arp main/head/rod studs bolts, cometic headgasket? i can probably deal with the stock internals for my 16g.

are you able to get ## hands on a 6 bolt motor for a decent price?

i would settle with just all the arp studs and bolts, acl main and rod bearings, full gasket set, pretty much stock internals will do it i guess everyone is sayin. so if i can find a 6 bolt ill be happy to just use stock/oem pistons/rods/crank

a good goal would be 350-400whp. and idk what my budget is. can i do it with 1000? 1500? what?

Stock Oem or a felpro headgasket will work just fine with some Arp head studs....

Either way,
I can get you taken care of motor wise whether its your 7bolt or a fresh 6 bolt block or any other route you would like to go just let me know via Pm..... :thumb:

LOL i bet. i thought thats what i was gonna be buying too you should see my shopping cart for extremepsi.com ROFL i think that price is gonna be sliced in half if my1gdsm comes through with this and helps me build my car fora excellent price LOL

What about labor? Are you going to tear down your motor and bring it back together?
With a $1k-$1.5k, honestly you won't be doing that much.
I dropped about $3.5k-$4k in my forged motor alone...nearly 3/4 of the price was for parts alone.

But then again I made sure every damn little thing was replaced...and I mean EVERY little thing.
