Rebuild time and cost? Wondering because a friend of mine says it will take a month to rebuild the engine and I dunno if he's right or over exaggerating.

my buddy was quoted about 900-1300 just for labor from a local machine shop. it could take a month my . head took about a week

The machine work, depending on what all you want/need done, will vary from shop to shop, mainly due to work load.

what are your goals? Your budget? thats is what is needed at this point.
what mods do you have at this time if any?
Have you started looking for the basics that you will need for the build? Gaskets, timing kit, head studs, MLS headgasket?

Is the engine out and apart yet?
How bad is the crank from the spun bearing?

Are you going to do the rebuild? or a shop?

For the price you pay in a machine shop i would invest in a cyclone motor comes with everything for 1200. and its a 6 bolt.
