I recently bought my 1g 1991 GSX about two weeks or so ago, selling my 350z to help with finances (etc). Anyway, I've done some fixing to it since I bought it (fuel pump, Water pump, Plugs and wires, sealing some oil leaks) and With the new fuel pump and plugs I figured my starting problem would be solved. It literally takes me 2 to 3 times turning the ignition to get it to start. Also pumping the gas seems to help, even though I was told I shouldn't even be doing that with a fuel injection car (or shouldn't need to) I'm really newbie at cars and want to learn but as a newb some stuff just stumps me. Any help with my starting problem would be greatly appreciated.

What sort of fuel pump did you put in? Any other part of the fuel system opened up recently?

Does it start right away, right after you turn it off? Run OK?

It usually will start easier if I'd just turned it off. As far as the fuel pump I put in I asked my local advanced auto parts and they sold me the pump and it was put in by my local shop.

it's not cranking slowly. Just taking many turnovers. At least it doesn't seem slow to me.

Also, Is the fuel pressure reg on the front like most or in the trunk near the fuel pump? Since the AWD has the real fuel pump.
