Ok so I’ve gotten to a point to where I have to post this question. I was trying to avoid asking until I couldn’t find the answer on google or the search option here. Sorry anyways, I have a 97 gst that has rod knock. Found a 1990 Ts-I motor and didn’t even think about it till after the purchase was completed. I can’t find how to wire in the 90 CAS to my 97 harness. It’s the cas with the harness that comes off of it. Only thing I can find is the adapter harness for the 91-94 cas. That being said I don’t wanna screw this up and want it done right so I don’t have to come back and do it a second time. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you much and G’day.

Unless there's a 90 specific green top cas, the green top and black top are wired the same.

The 1990 (and earlier) version has a wire pigtail harness terminating in a square 4 pin connector where the 91-94 green and black top CAS have an inline 4 pin connector included in the body of the housing.

Ok brilliant. Thank you guys so much. I was looking at that style there also just didn’t have any idea if those of CAS required a crank trigger as well. That’s perfect then. I’ve been banging my head on the wall for the last few days. I’m glad I popped and finally asked. After thinking about it I should’ve used my brain a little harder. Since the 91-94 adapter harness tk the 97 only has plugs that plug into the connectors for the crank and cas. 🤦🏻‍♂️ sorry guys mistake won’t happen again. And the motor has no electronics on it besides the CAS. So I’m thinking I’m gonna have to use the 2g intake mani then. Since it has every on it in the proper position. One more question I’ll make it sweet and simple. Pull motor/trans or drop motor/trans

You should give us the whole story and create a profile. This swap has been done so many times and all problems are known and have been dealt with. You have options but we need to know what you are planning to do. You could drop the entire motor in as is. Or swap the head to the new shortblock. etc etc. There is more than one way to do this but you have to tell us what you're doing, why, what's already done to the car if anything etc etc.

I also suggest going here. TONS of good information including how to do a 6 bolt swap. CAS issues etc etc.

Thank you good sir. That’s exactly what I needed. Yes I need to update my profile. I will get on that asap. Much obliged for everyone’s help. Was trying my hardest to not be “that guy” but had to cave. The lot of you aren’t called DSM Wisemen for shits and giggles or good health. Will keep you guys updated. And will mark this as resolved unless you guys say otherwise.

Then I retract my statement, my bad.

However, I'd rather have a 90 cas IF THE WIRES AREN'T BRIDDLE. That plug sticking straight up hasn't been the best for me.
