Solution
I wouldn't use CCA wire for anything, especially in a car where moisture (even in low amounts) is present. I like 1/0 or bigger for the feed since it has to carry starting and charging currents and your looking at 15ft or so after you route it around.

The more strands the better since it means more copper in the cable and more flexible. You want pure copper not copper plated aluminum. Doesn't matter if it's oxygen free or not and solid not transparent insulation.
