1990 eclipse gsx problem PLEASE HELP

i just bought a 1990 gsx a couple days ago, I'm a former 240sx rb26dett owner so im new to mitsubishi. When i bought the car i noticed a little clicking noise when the accelerator is opened, i got out to see what it was and it kinda sounds like its coming from the exaust manifold (one bolt missing). And when the i increase rpms when it comes back down it goes to like 500 rpm and kinda sputters a bit before SOMETIMES recovering, sometimes it completely dies out and i have to restart the car again. Some people were telling me its the blow off valve, or bad blow off valve spring, but other people were saying its my idle control or something, but if someone could help i'd really appreciate it!!

shaftplay in the turbo? Car smoking? Does it sound like its coming from vavle cover ie lifter tick?

could be another broken stud chattering actually.

That could be a number of things, please post a list of modifications done to the car(if any)so we can better help you out.

As mentioned above it can be a number of things....I personally went through the same thing you're going through with my previous 1G. I think I maybe able to help as long as you give me as much info on your car as possible....aka mods, etc.

The ticking noise is probably an exhaust leak. The stumbling could be a number of things, hopefully just a vacuum leak.

most likely lifter tick mine was kinda loud but i did a oil change with mobi1 and its doing pretty good
Check all Vacuum Lines and make sure your Blow off Valve is recirculated
when i bought my 1990 GSX the BOV wasnt recirculated and had vacuum leaks which would causes it to have rough idles and even cause it die

As of right now its all stock, the guy i bought it from said he just replaced the turbo with a stock 14b turbo, new fuel pump, turbo timer, and blow off valve (not circulated) but as for the clicking i seems to be coming from the front of the block where the exhaust manifold is there is a bolt missing from the manifold.
but some other people were telling me to recirculate the bov.
what do you guys think?

You need to recirculate the BOV. the car will run like ass without it. That explains it dying and stuttering when you let off the gas. Without it recirculated the car thinks it has more air than it does and will run rich. Especially when letting off the gas.

Correct. BOV needs to be recirculated and exhaust leak needs to be fixed. IAC is a big issue with these cars so that is not out of the picture either. If you need some local help feel free to PM me.
