So earlier this evening I was driving home and noticed something a lill odd. Now Im very positive that I have a 14B. Ive looked at the pictures of the 16G and up and I dont have 6x2 compressor wheel. So from what I have read the 14B can only push 21PSI thats what I have read and have not heard any different. Well tonight I saw 26PSI from around 3K to 4K where I let off. Ill double check my mods but what I have as of right now Are, 2.5 turbo back, Stock MAF filter can with no MAF. Unkown 272's Cyclone Intake, FIC 750CC, Walbro 190, Jackal, MBC, Stock Side mount. Here are two Vids

So My question is can the 14B do this? And should I do something to prevent this?

I dont see why it couldnt...ive had my t25 hold at 23 psi before, and i have WAY less done than you have. Just because it can do it doesnt mean its being efficient though, LOL.

I was just wondering. I know they run out of breath well before 21PSI. I dont have the WG ported so its over boosted from where I want to run it. This just happen to be the first time ive seen it this high

Plenty of 14b owners run more than 21 psi. Here's a screenshot of mine from the last time at the track, peak boost was 24.8 psi. Regardless of what turbo or boost level you're running, you should be logging and checking for knock and making sure your AFRs and timing are where you want them - especially on a stock SMIC.

The loggin to a laptop has so far eluded me. My last attempt will be to make my own adapter intead of using my palm cable. I have a Keyspan dongle. But with my homemade null modem adapter I get no data. Even though I have checked the path all the way from the Dongle to the end of the plug. But I do log when I need to. But the way im setup now I don't need to log to see my AFR's or knock. My boost gauge is a knock sum and i have a wide-band next to the boost gauge. I do have knock right now. Very minor knock. Im still trying to tune it out. But sometimes I think it just my terrible sensor. I do have a snow performance meth kit to thwart off knock. Im going to install a second nozzle pre-inter cooler to drop the temps down as much as possible.

As was said, just watch your AFRs, but if I was you, I'd turn it down to 20, max 22 psi. Not only will it help longevity, but my 14b charge temps went up dramatically after 22psi, so going higher ain't gonna help anyway.

Ive had a 16g past 30psi. Its not a question of if small turbos can boost that high but the wheel is starting to get up there in speed. 200,000rpm is a lot for a turbo! You are greatly decreasing the life of the turbo raising the boost that high. My 16g was used but i have decent amount of shaft play after probably 15 runs. The more you compress air the hotter it get so watch your intake temps.

As everyone else has said, yes a 14b will push that much boost. I used to run 24 psi at the track but it was just blowing hot air at that point so now I run a max of 21 psi.

Why don't you just look at the serial number?

My 14b was flowing 31lbs/m at 13psi and now at 18psi it still flows 31lbs/m so psi doesnt really mean more air.

If that isn't a reverse thread turbine shaft, you're going to spin the nut off, over spinning the turbo like that.

I never got much more performance going over 18-20 psi with a fully setup 14b car, on e85.

Ill try to get the time do some porting on the WG then. Thats my problem right now. With no restriction on the air intake and high flow exhaust its just able to BC alot.

Try porting the turbine housing and O2 housing. If it doesn't work, get a external wastegate or wastegate dump. Wastegate dump is what it took for me to cure my boost creep.
