Well it was brought to my attention that i have been driving my car with no water lines on the turbo OMG for about 500 miles. I ordered a new set i got them, and i'm not exactly sure on how they go on. It would be really nice to see some pictures LOL. I looked in my haynes manual, and it didnt really help me to much it looked like the holes were in the wrong spot, or something

you don't need to run coolent to a journal bearing turbo.
I've got a nt water pipe on my car. Save the money and buy something else.

i got you! :thumb:

this is the only pic i was able to find of the left side of the engine bay. circled hose is for the turbo. the line too.

on the other side its pretty straight forward. theres a place where a hose goes connected behind the oil filter (would help to remove the filter) that hose then goes up to the turbo which has the same line as befroe and your done. hope this helped

I think that line right there is doing a horse shoe back into something else on my car if im not mistaking.

Oh damn, so that line comes in 2 pieces, but is one line am i understanding this right?

First, you dont need to run coolant lines. Coolant was used on these turbos simply because for the normal driver they would not take the time to let the car sit before turning it off. If you do not let the car run for a few mins after driving the oil will choke inside.

So simply, just wait a min or two after driving before turning off your engine.

If you want to run the lines, one is a feed and one is a return. The lines come from the water neck are where the radiator cap is.

As many times i have looked at and around your engine i havnt noticed that:notgood:. Shame on me. But yea man its easy, just hit me up and i can walk you through it.

Now when you say the oil will choke inside what do you mean by that?

Turbo oil seals leak oil by design. The coolant lines are in place to allow the center housing to cool slowly after turning the engine off following a hard drive in order to prevent the oil from cooling and turning to carbon in and around the turbine seal groove.

You do not need the coolant lines if you allow the turbo to cool properly following a drive. Generally most guys don't turn off a freeway and into their driveway, so most of the time the turbo can cool without needing an extended idle. The rest of the guys may want to look into a turbo timer so you do not have to sit with your car while it idles and cools down.

Anyone using a turbo timer on a water-cooled turbo is wasting gasoline.
