hey, what intercooler piping or clamps are you using. I am having trouble with my intercooler piping keep blowing off under high pressure. Everytime i do a hard pull in third it seems like it either comes out or off. It sucks.
well?

he's burning more than 500 crank HP worth of fuel at 11.5:1 AFR. Argue facts all you like. We didn't get a chance to take it to the dyno before heading to the track - there is a whopping 30 minutes in this tune up!

So we are taking it to the dyno real soon. You'll have your charts.

That is all we are asking for is proof. I could say I have 850whp and with out proof it is all speculation.

100 percent agreed. and it was my fault for posting speculations. The car is now tuned for 37lbs of boost on the scm60, compression is still good across the board.... it'll be a hell of a run.

Dyno day is tuesday December 27. at 8:00pm

I'll have numbers and a vid.

Its christmas Eve... 3 days before I'm going to the dyno.

I wanted to give you guys an update and explain what were going to the dyno with.

I am currently running a slowboy 3500lb clutch, the clutch has held up EXTREMELY well for the power were making and I would recommend it to anybody.

Here's the catch, were going up to the dyno with my Act 2900 clutch (* that i still need to stick into the car*...

on top of that were going to try and squeeze another 2lbs of boost out of the car ( which will take me to 39lbs of boost.)

On top of that we are going to the dyno and going to make runs with just the turbo to see what the car will put down... hopefully 450whp ( which would take me over 500 to the crank for SURE)

The last run at the dyno we are going to spray at around 5300rpms all the way to redline looking for a huge power jump.

This will be to try and take the record for most power under the stock 7 bolt bottom end, ( 554 WHP is the most recordable with dyno numbers.

Were going to try and run 16 degrees of timing on the dyno til the point of spray where we will pull timing around 5100RPMS ( 300rpms before we spray the nitrous) all the way back to 10 degrees ( trying to keep spark from blowing out on stock ignition) and than when we spray 2 or 300 rpms after we are spraying we will keep on adding timing until the point of peak power...

Wish us luck, the bottom end on the car and stock ignition is REALLY going to need it. i will post on tuesday night when we get back.
Andrew

too bad your boost gauge didn't go high enough... but 39 lbs on the stock bottom end? Well, it was bound to go sooner or later. Awesome job though... now go rebuild.

Werd

Already have a block for the car.... ( eagle, ross) and the car will be getting dressed up a little bit and come out badder than ever just might take another year

I just saw the dyno vid :nono: . Should've listen to the warnings about trying to make all that power with a 7-bolt, but I'm sure your buddies were telling you it'll be fine. Sucks to learn the hard way. I saw the look on your face, just about to  ...and understandable
All the best with your new built-bottm end.

Well andrew time to get on it. If you get on it and stay on it you should be able to get it out by mid summer.

hahah nah people werent telling me to do it, they were telling me NOT to, I dont listen to much of anybody though... I do it the way I want to and thats how ive always been...

Going to get the car running again and compete in dragweek come DEEP summer.... competing in the small block power adder class ROFL

Hey atleast you made over 500 crank hp LOL. Good luck to you i'm a fellow stock bottom end guy going for big hp so I feel your pain. Thing is that ammount of power should have been easier to achive it shouldn't have taken 39psi to do.

im pretty sure he was saying, if it breaks i dont care through this entire thread, and since he knew he was going to build the bottom end it didnt matter. it was very informitive to you 7 bolt users, although i thought you mentioned that you lost fuel pressure and went lean, which caused you to bust your engine. what pump are you using again, and what will you be using on your 10second set up?

also, are you using (or were you) stock fuel lines and filter? that might cause you to not be able to produce the high volume needed for that kind of power. we all know the fuel rail is good enough, and assuming you were on somewhere around 750cc plus injectors, those should have held too, i think it was probably the filter or the pump

Looking through the log and Pulling the motor apart we learned it was the rod bolts, or something with the rods...

Fuel pressure was fine the hole run after looking at logs and dyno chart.

There was a big boost leak on the intake manifold, that and the intake manifold is VERY restrictive :(

850cc injectors on a 255hp with -6 line all around....

if i could of done it different, ARP headbolts and a set of eagle rods... we all knew it wasnt going to last forever, we now know what the bottom ends can take :)

For this next season im lookin into running a twin 255 :)

So 39psi at about 500 crank horsepower... thats the absolute limit for the 7 bolt apparently. I give you credit... testing the limits of the factory bottom end is not really something a lot of people are willing to do LOL. Hope to see a nice new motor in there soon... the rest of the go fast parts are already in there. That's awesome.

Might I suggest an out of tank fuel pump and maybe a smaller tank in the trunk? Btw, was that run on pump gas? If so, imagine what you could have done with race gas.

new setup come mid summer with a eagle/ross motor on a very simillar turbo to a gt35r fuel setup will be the same...

than after next season -8 line with a aero pump and a gt40r

Letting you loose with a 40R might just qualify you as out of control:thumb:

hahahaha thanks cragger...

cragger was on the phone with me 2 to 3 times a week before my setup went to the dyno and also the track... OVER THE PHONE he gave us a decent idea of where our timing wanted to be and also our air fuels!!!!!

on top of that he gave us some damn good Ideas...

SLOWBOY RACING HAS BEEN NOTHING but good to me and has put up with a lot of bullshit from me, and for that i give them the :rocks:

I'll see you guys soon and Cragger I'll give you a call with the Megasquirt stuff tomorrow
Andrew
