11 sec dsm build whats missing????

I havent written an update to this post in a long time so here is where I can start..

Scott Clark, ( dieselgeek) and I got the megasquirt installed and the car since the last week has been running EXTREMELY hard... car is tuned right now at 17.8 LBS of boost

Last night the car raced a 400 WHP gsx and I beat him by about a half a car, The car will be going to the track tomorrow tuned right around 28 lbs of boost....

Wish me luck..

I am very proud of you, for sticking in their and pulling a 11 sec. on ya first try. Now that you have u accompliced your goal 11 sec. can I have your car so I can run 11 too LOL

Its been a very long time since ive posted in this.... Almost two months, the car still runs and has great compression...

its been a great success for me... There is a huge possibility of the car being ..

The car if not sold is now put away for the nebraska winter... and quite possibly could go and try to grab a 10 next spring.

I'd suggest editing your prior post... street racing is frowned upon rather heavily on these boards.
 
hey, whats up squeak, do you still have your car, or did you end up selling it. It looks like ill finally have my car ready like this week, finally. So is that 400gsx you talked about a couple posts ago melvins? or who's was it? Just curious, did you get it on video. I haven't seen any good vids lately, probably cause its so damn cold and it keeps snowing. LOL. IF you have your car put away for the winter and haven't sold it yet, do you still have that AEM wideband?

whats up, yeah i still have the car and its not for sale anymore, looking for 10's out of it now and hope to get to the goal.

I still have the wideband but it needs a new sensor... If you are interested in borrowing it once i have the new sensor let me know and we can work something out for sure.

I have mine sitting in the garage right now, and if i throw maybe some better fuel lines at hit, i think i could be close to the 10sec range capability of the car. Im just not sure about my driving capability, since the damn car hasn't ran for more than a week in over a year!!
Hey, def good luck with your quest for 10's. i was def. impressed by the 11.9. i don't know if you saw my post in OR. but you ran almost the same time as the white gsx with half the mods. Thats awesome. And people talk about reliability. I mean people with built trannies and engines still blow them, its all about how you drive it and take care of it, oh yeah and how well it was put together. So good luck, can't wait till spring. Ill still probably go out and have some fun in the snow though. ROFL

Deffinately, the car will deffinately be changing in ways i could never imaging, the quest for 10's should be just like that of 11's lots of time and tough work, i believe i will get it done though, there are some crazy ideas popping around in my head filled with ADD :) It will become a full race car that will be brought out on friday and saturday nights, devoted to bringing down the shit talkers and not so humbler 302 and ls1 owners of nebraska :rocks: Here are the days that the mustangs and camaros fear the little 4 cylinder diamond star ricers.

if it was me, on your setup and i wanted 10s, i think id just install and tune for nitrous, or use water injection and up the boost. I think with your turbo you could hit 10s. Also I'd consider stripping everything out of the car that is not needed... I think your main concern here now is getting enough boost while keeping things cool enough to avoid detonation, which is going to ultimately be the down fall of the stock bottom end.

10s on the stock bottom end is asking to throw a rod through the block, but whatever, if you want to do it, then do it.... I'd love to see it, even if you grenade your block in the process.

Running enough boost is not what i am worried about, as the car sat before the cams and the intake manifold i was running 34 psi, but there was not a huge difference from running that and 26 psi. because the cams and intake manifold were being such a huge restriction.

I feel now that i have cams and soon to buy an intake manifold that will free up a TON of horsepower... I will go back to the track with these mods on the drag radials and hope for a consitently low eleven ( this will all be done on methanol)

after that if i can not break into the tens i will run around a 50 shot through 3rd and 4th gear, that should get me into the high 10's.

if that doesnt do it for me im sure the stock bottom end will have grenaded by than.

hey, what intercooler piping or clamps are you using. I am having trouble with my intercooler piping keep blowing off under high pressure. Everytime i do a hard pull in third it seems like it either comes out or off. It sucks.

he's burning more than 500 crank HP worth of fuel at 11.5:1 AFR. Argue facts all you like. We didn't get a chance to take it to the dyno before heading to the track - there is a whopping 30 minutes in this tune up!

So we are taking it to the dyno real soon. You'll have your charts.

And you are basing this all on your butt dyno and his one time 119mph trap speed. Didn't Chris up at sublime run 128mph on 450whp in his talon?

A lot of people get let down on dyno day.
