thanks working on this project has taught me more about cars than i have ever realized possible

Anything you guys would change in the engine bay, or by the looks of it is it pretty good, just start critiquing all of my shit, cars turn out 100 times better when you have someone telling you something you never thought of before....

If you don't put this set-up deep into the 11's something is very wrong or you're tuning way to conservatively. Don't under estimate your car or the strength of the 7-bolt. I'm on the verge of running 10's with a tdo6h 20g powered 7-bolt. The last time out we ran 11.03 @ 126.79 before grenading the transfer case. Expect big things and good luck !!

thats the advice i really like to hear....

The car is going to be taken to a buddy of mines house soon to finish with the MS and get all the little bugs worked out... Than to tune the car and there are a couple people that I really need to race... people like some of the ones on here, dont believe that you can do what you say you will

I have gotten alot of shit for my car but that is because I am an 18 year.... dont get me wrong look at the pictures of my car and that will tell you that i can work on one... :tease:

I will also be able to post some vids of the car once its out too...

There is a dsm meet august 24th and thats when it will be brought out for the first time... I am probably going to keep this as a '" dsm build topic'" and just keep on updating it once a day or so

thanks for viewing
Andrew

Looks as if you've done a really nice job on your car. My friends help tuning my car and a lot of seat time were crucial to us getting the car to where it currently is. Continue to believe in yourself and your car and don't accept anything less than excellence. Keep me posted with your results and best of luck to you !!

Yeah thanks...

now here's a question for you guys...

how far will the 850cc injectors take me

I have a stock HG on arp studs torqued to 95ft lbs.... there are alot of people who get away with the stock hg do you think it will last????

and lastly, what do you think I'll be able to get on the stock head and IM.... cams only????

I think you'll be fine with 850's. Interesting thing is i run a stock head and head gasket along with ARP's and have had no problems what-so-ever. My intake manifold is a first gen that's been extrude honed...nothing elaborate. My exhaust manifold is simply a ported 2nd gen., once again nothing special. All these low dollar, simple items and i trap 127. You don't need to go crazy to go fast. Watch your boost on pump gas and keep a close eye on your tuning parameters. I see 25-29 psi on a regular basis depending on my fuel choice. Good luck !!

now here are th questions I have for you guys, do you like the cutting of the bumper??? I figured it would help with the cooling a little bit better, and really, i just like the way it looks

if you can think of any advice that would also be awesome, keep it easy and happy tuning
Andrew

I really like the cutting job. The way it slants up almost makes the top part look a bit fang like, and IMO it kinda gets rid of the annoying smiley face the 2Ga is known for. Good stuff man. If I dont go 2Gb swap this pic will be what I go off of to cut, looks great.

You know what, if you want to move into the 11's easy, then get some cams (thought you had them already) HKS 272/272. It seems to make the biggest difference besides puttin a bigger turbo on. I have a PTE SCM61 and the only internals I have are HKS cams and they make a huge diff. Haven't been to the track but I know this setup will get 11's. I do think that drivetrain is going to make a diff, and if you plan on makin a couple of passes on the stock tran with that setup you better slip it and probably bring a trailer cuz there's a good chance that you'll hit some problems after 3 or 4 passes. Just make sure you do not drop it. How much of a restriction is a 2nd gen intake to a 1st gen? Isn't it like 20 to 30% less efficient?

what your talking about has mostly been brought up except for the head... i guess the head will flow more mid range mostly because of the ### 2g intake mani... ( runners are longer)

but thanks for all the answers and questions that have been brought up, I like this thread

just curious but is a gt35r or 60-1 necassary for 11's? Sorry if this has been addressed, its been a long night and a long thread.

I know that your thinking that and I deffinately agree that it probably isnt needed, but If you can see with my supporting mods, alot of them are not needed but I'm doing them so I dont have to replace anytime soon ( should have a built head and bottom end) by spring and thats when i can take 100% full advantage of the turbo and the other mods... that was great to bring up...

I would hve to agree, maybe is just me but isnt the 35r a little over kill for 11s?

too much spool/hp overkill? Naaaaaah. My neighbor was running an off the shelf red turbo (which I believe is a 60-1) and it was very livable on the street. 15PSI by about 3700RPM and full boost around 4-4200. Stock cams. 3rd gear was HAPPY! And nothing could touch it on the highway. Granted, thats the only 60-1 car I've ever ridden in but I'd run it on the street, and probably will.

BS on the spool up

Call any BS card you want. Sure, other people get different results, as is the case with tuning, some people are better than others at it and have stronger cars as a result(not to mention, some people throw parts on cars just to throw brand name parts w/o really sitting down and thinking about what parts will work really well with others), and the majority of people post results of what they have heard or read by just about everyone else who has heard or read it (the way of the internet bench racers!!)-I rode in the car, and was utterly shocked by how it felt. It definitely took longer than my 50 trim, but it was definitely not horrid, and well worth the top end.

I failed to mention it was with short routed piping and a GM blow through setup, which Im guessing helped a bit with the spoolup, and a really nice cast exhaust manifold.

I'm curious to see how that Internal gate will work out for you. My friend with a GT-13 is pulling his hair out over his and mine seems to be giving me more trouble everytime I raise the boost.
