hahahaha thanks cragger...

cragger was on the phone with me 2 to 3 times a week before my setup went to the dyno and also the track... OVER THE PHONE he gave us a decent idea of where our timing wanted to be and also our air fuels!!!!!

on top of that he gave us some damn good Ideas...

SLOWBOY RACING HAS BEEN NOTHING but good to me and has put up with a lot of bullshit from me, and for that i give them the :rocks:

I'll see you guys soon and Cragger I'll give you a call with the Megasquirt stuff tomorrow
Andrew
not that what you just said made or broke my decision, but after i do my fuel system i will be buying my turbo from them. havent bought anything from them yet (dejon is just sooooo affordable) but when the time comes (see new turbocharger) i know who to go to. i have used there site like a bible (i like to map out what ill be buying in the future and kinda use there site as a universal parts catalog along with dsmmotorsport and machv.) and must agree that they seem like they know there stuff. too bad there half a country away. (hint, california sbr, hint)

For sure... Dieselgeek ( my amazing tuner) and Cragger chatted on the phone a couple times and Scott is actually on the phone with him right now...

To of the most KNOWLEDGABLE tuners/builders I know..

Squeak, you've learned a lot too sir in the time we have been talking, don't sell yourself short now! With a 40R and a built motor, your going to be dangerous :thumb:

Scott, he knows TONS about tuning, that is for sure and he isn't a BS'er about numbers like so often tuners do just for business, good man! :thumb:

I attached a little pic for you guys, don't stare directly at it... It will hypnotize you!

Letting you loose with a 40R might just qualify you as out of control:thumb:

HUGE thanks to Craggar (spelling?)

This whole time he was guiding us on the tune. All I did was MAKE SURE that the timing was stable and accurately calibrated, we ran *exactly* what we were advised by slowboy and we put a lot of locals, with 10x more $$$ in their combo, to shame (in my opinion).

Met a lot of nice guys in the process, and I learned a ton about DSM tuning in the same process.

When the motor went, it appears a rod bolt failed. If there was a problem with fuel pressure (or anything causing a lean condition, or detonation) the piston tops sure didn't show it - even all four sparkplugs looked brand new, no wear or pitting or lean conditions.

Anyhow, I am looking forward to Andrew's next attempts. I would like to see him get into the 10s this year but the difference between a 10.99 and an 11.94 is a LOT bigger than most people can understand.

thanks again Craggar,

-scott

Been getting alot of questions, and this is what will be pushing that big turbo next year...

1st gen 7 bolt... Eagle rods, Ross pistons 8.5:1 compression... Lots of people talking shit Here in Nebraska and the funny thing is none of em will beack it up...

here it is

No one's been callin me lately so everynight I been going and getting my motor cleaned and WOW did the 12 or so hours of work REALLY pay off, today I got a huge chunk of it done and finally painted... the front case looks brand new and here are a couple snaps!

why a 1gb engine (1g 7 bolt) over a 1ga? i know that the 1gb's dont crank walk as well, but isnt the 6 bolt supposed to handle more power. i know the crank used in 7 bolts is designed to "cut" through oil better or something, and the crank is more performance oriented, but again, isnt it a weaker crank?

The motor has under 10k miles on it since being built and I got a HUGE deal on the motor and extremely cheap from a good guy around here. Would I have done the motor this way, probably not, but for the price I cant complain.

And this chapter of my life is over... starting a new project... thanks for all the help through the ups and the downs guys !
