Oh so close... stick with it.
thats what i gotta tell myself everyday i dont know how others sell it i couldnt id just pay someone to finish it who knows what they are doing so i can finally enjoy it after so long i wouldnt be to mad i did 100% of the work still. i learned alot. had some fun. appreciate it tho ima get there! ill be posting vid of it boosting i promise it!

Mine just always had a small leak on the timing. Side of the pan. And then it just got worse to the point where it was making literal puddles. These would work pretty well if there was a steel core in them, I think. But I just went back to RTV and haven't had any issues since. It's definitely a pain to pull it but worth it to me.
yeah thats why i went with the silicon in the first place not having to deal with the rtv

well men and more men. it does run. i still gotta put the belts on, coolant, hit it with a timing light. a boost leak test and then see what happens. although when it was running it was still smoking out the exhaust. and the turbo is still leaking barley but its there 🙄 brand new turbo btw. hopefully ill figure it out, if i have to replace that turbo gasket that hopefully isnt to hard.

well well well boys and men. somethings good but somethings not. the compression is great now. least i didnt f*** up my first set of rings and honing. but the f***er is still leaking. so i did some research and found out about the back hole for the balance shaft i dont have anymore and i put a fitting in it and ran it to the cheap catch can i had laying around, now either the catch can isnt good enough or i still have way to much crank case pressure. when i was idled it didnt leak or comeout the exhaust but as soon as i took it for a drive it started smoking hella, so i think im going to do the weld a fitting on the front and run both to a catch can hopefully that works to relieve all this stupid pressure i have. in the meantime i got some other things done.
