Yes chrom can rust

I didn't know chromoly could rust interesting, i though the chromium would counteract that like it does in stainless

Carefully. I have 5 times the amount of time into fitting tube than welding tube. Fitting is definitely the more complicated part of it. But the more I do, the easier it gets.

I'm not sure which marks you're refering to. HAZ shows a little more when the surface is DA'd (mill scale removal). Some of the heat marks in the pics above is from the tempering done after welding. Chromoly turns a dull gray after tempering.

I didn't know if it was rust or haz marks cause i didn't know if you wire wheel'd anything or how old it was. Nothin inportant

I'll be starting my next compound build in a couple months (weather permitting). I only have the patience to work with sch-10 about twice a year, but that always keeps be looking forward to the next build.

The header is coming along slowly, but I am enjoying the process. I got a little side tracked on the car, basically redoing some of the exhaust so that it exits the reverse lights

A 20g and an HX52. The 20g is in a large, reworked T3 housing with a 60mm gate. And the Holset will be stuffed into a large Tial v-band housing with a 45mm gate.

Both turbos were already rebuilt by Justin. I just have to square away the v-band housing for the Holset and they'll both be ready to run.

My latest welding project. Can anyone guess what it is? Clues: It has a threaded boss on the underside at each corner, and the 4-hole pattern on the one corner might give it away.

Beats me, looks like a metal storage rack. Any more clues? The 4 bolt hole pattern thing doesnt stand out to me right now. Not sire what thats for.

That looks like a rack for bending dies and the 4 bolt pattern is where the hydraulic pump mounts.

Bingo.

Converting my manual to an air-over-hydraulic. The base of the bender bolts on where the 4 holes are. And the casters thread into the bosses. Should be pretty nice once it's all together.

Yeah, the MB105HD is what I have. Seems nice, but I haven't used it yet. The swap is really simple with the SWAG bracket and HF cylinder.
