Try 316 filler on the 304 parent metal.
I dont use the radioactive stuff but ive got lanth and ceriated in my box.
im not to worried about thc color if thats why u say that. i like using the proper rod for the base metal. i know there arent any big issues with using 316 but technically 308 is the proper rod so thats why i use it.

your heat affected zone is HUGE and that means your weld could
say I don't know what I'm talking about and he knows what he's doing. Well, few weeks ago. He was using his friends welding mig/tig not sure because I wasn't there. He was patching a hole to his car, that had a spotlight on driver's side because it was a patrol car. Keep in mind my brother was welding at 2am
