Ok, so i have a cross road here, getting ready to install a new turbo and the Pun. FMIC Kit.

My question is i have the XSPower E316G Turbo and a 14b turbo sitting here ... a friend of mine had the 16g turbo on his 2g and ran it for about 100 miles and the car was totaled. He gave me the turbo to help me out. I also have a 14b (unknown miles) with minimal side/side shaft play that i paid $20 for ..

I know the talk about those XSPower 16g's, However i didn't waste money on it .. should i install the 16g or the 14b ??

I'm in the same situation LOL

I'm putting the ebay 16G on, and if/when it blows, I have the 14B as a backup.
 
try out the ebay 16G and see how performs.. maybe you can prove everyone wrong about the life of those turbos...

14b for back up ^_^
 
What are your goal right now? I'll wager your 14b will reach it. With the same budget too.

I ran last night at the track with my stock stuff ... was very disappointed when i only ran a 16.00 @ 86 mph ...

I want to get to the low 15's to high 14's with as little as the turbo and FMIC ... maybe i'm dreaming who knows :hmm:
 
You're not even running what the stock car can run. And you have upped the boost. You have to work out some issues. Boost leak tests, base tuning, etc. . .

If you're going to see a gola that will make a 16g work for it, then I suggest a 16g turbo that won't likely blow up. If you were looking to see 300-325 whp, I would suggest trading the stock 14b turbine housing for the ebay 16g turbine housing (to get the larger a/r) and running the 14b to the edge. It would be a fun turbo for such a goal.
 
Yes something is wrong with your vehicle if you are only capable of low 15's to high 14's with a T-25. I ran this summer already a 14 flat at 94 on my gsx full weight with link and a the 2step off the line, cant wait for my b16g install aiming for high to mid twelves.

What things can i check into ?? I know these things stock can run 15's easy and i gave it all it had to hit a 16 flat ....

I know there's a list somewhere on here on your basic maintenance. I would recommend checking for boost and vacuum leaks, checking your plugs and wires, and getting a logger and doing a few pulls to see how well you're really running. Gauges would help too as a first mod, 2g's gauges are hardly useful with no numbers on them.
 
Thanks everyone for all the input on this issue, i have decided that i am doing a complete 7 bolt build this winter. Look for my build thread soon with many pics!!
