Hello guys i hope i can find a light in this forum like i always have!
I am having problems starting my car. Its a 93 Mitsubishi ZX, its like a 92 Galant FWD. I am doing a engine swap got a 1g 4g63t and a galant vr4 ecu. I have been reading on this forum how to add the aditional wires for the o2 sensor knock sensor and injector resistor box i think am good there i followed the instruction on here. i got my hands on a 1g maf translator and 3" gm maf.

Now the problem is the following, the car cranks all good but wont start. I smell fuel and white smoke comes out of the exhaust when cranked. some times i hear a big bang but nothing more.

I tried moving the CAS thinking about the engine timing and nothing. I checked engine belt timing all good, checked spark got spark and fuel as well. I get the smoke and smell and compression is good too. oh maf translator is off on all 4 dip switch aux 0 base 2 mid 0 wot 0 for 450cc injectors.

i dont know what else to do. any idea? btw am really sorry for my english!

Shouldn't it be aux 0, base 0? That is how one of my dsm's that has a gm maf and a translator is set. It has a small 16g turbo on it. See picture. It runs surprisingly well.

well on the manual that i saw said aux 0 base 2 for 450cc injectors.. aux0 and base0 is for 430cc but it wont hurt trying that too thx for the tip!

Way too many possibilities. Make yourself a datalogger for the 1G ECU and see what the ECU thinks is going on. It might just be a bad coolant temp sensor.

Thanks for the reply. I have been checking wires and sensors.

Coolant sensor was bad and i changed but it did not change anything. I am gonna get new spark plugs and wires and keep checking everything again.

About the data logger i did a quick search and i think i can build one am gonna try that too thanks for the tip!
