wont start

What happened was i was driving down the street and the engine just cut out. Tried to start but nothing. So I towed it back to my place. I was thinking fuel problem or electrical. i pulled the coil from my other gst that doesnt run due to spun rod bearing(i bought it that way) and bolted it on. nothing worked again so i put original back on. then i move to fuel i cant hear fuel pump when i turn the key to on so i disconnect the line nothing pumps when i turn key to on pos. so i order a new pump still waiting on. meantime i take original pump out and hook it up too a 6 volt charger and it works im still going to put new one that i ordered in. but now im thinking what is it. could it be the fuel filter which seems like a pain to take out. anyone know what it could be ???? sorry for long story but any help would be much appreciated.

if the coils are good, are you getting spark? does it crank just not turn over? check the transistor coudl be sumthin that easy as a loose plug or jsut a faulty transistor. thatss the easiest check

from my experince with dsm the fuel pump wount kick in untill you try to start. Have you checked the timing?

check the timing and also see if you have a loose ground any were. My car kept dying and blowing up a wire and I couldn't figure out why untill I put new exhaust on and see that a wire was just hanging. It would bounce off the ground and hit the exhaust pipe and ground out and blow the wire that connected to my fire wall to my intake manifold.

wwell when i turn the car over it just clicks . and remember i was driving down the road and the engine just stopped. everything sseemd normal before.
ill check timing and really look for loose grounds
