Will timing change if a plug wire was off or misfiring bad?

We timed my 2.4 but a plug wire was think off or barely on the coil terminal.

Would the base timing be off if a plug is not firing or firing erratically.I will have to borrow a light to recheck it.

Not a huge deal mostly just curious.

No. The only way it would effect it would be if you "clipped" to the plug wire that was loose or firing erratically. At that point your light would be erratic also and you would know something is up.

If you timed off #1, conceivably 2,3, and 4 could be removed and it would still time properly...it would just run like crap with 3 plug wires off.
