Okay guys, so i am having troubles with this damn swap i am sorting out. My 98 gst got hit and totalled so i swapped the motor n tranny to a 97 (perfectly working before swap...) and now it is running like complete a$$. I am trying to figure out the bugs and i have a couple questions...
1. Is there any sort of hidden electrical or plug differences between the two years that i am not thinking of.
2. I have an open plug which is the EVAP Emission Purge Control Solenoid Valve
as seen in this link.. post number 36... http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-electrical-wiring/298047-2g-engine-bay-electrical-connections-2.html
Any ideas as to why my car would be running like this...? Here is the deal
Slightly hard to start (started perfect and ran perfect in the other car.) I have tried swapping all kinds of parts between the cars to eliminate things being bad.
On a side note... when I drove it down the road the first time it would run fine at like 5% throttle. But any load would make it bog and misfire...
When it runs it seems to be running on only 3 cylinders.. rather rough. Every once in a while when idling or driving it seems like it cuts out another cylinder. I can't figure it out. I wanted to get it limped to my work tomorrow so I can tinker with it and not be frustrated after work, or in the dark, or in the rain or cold...which is why I haven't bothered touching the car since I finished the swap. It is aggrevating because I can't just bring all my frieking tools and scanners home every day to figure out what is wrong. I want to get this damn thing on the road or even to my work so I can fix it on my lunch break when I have a clear head.. I have never had problems like this with any of my other engine swaps. It is so aggrevating. If someone could please hep out.. ANY ideas are worth a shot. I know it is my job to fix stuff like this and do all sorts of other things but its different when you don't feel like dealing with the problems and it is your own car...
Hopefully someone can help me out. I will stop in here all nite to clear up questions and tinker on my car. I want the damn thing fixed asap.. At least enough to get to my work which is 5 miles away. I know there, that I will have the patience to take the time and fix all the bugs.
