I have some junky narrowband a/f gauge in the car that's not currently hooked up, I know the benefits of running a w/b, however, my question is will it make sense for me to switch to a wideband considering I'm not planning on doing any tuning or building as of right now or should I just replace the gauge with something else. I.e oil pressure, temp, etc...

If you don't intend on upping the boost or messing with the car anytime soon, I highly suggest replacing it with a quality oil pressure gauge instead of the wideband. Oil pressure is always a critical figure be it stock or high HP.

If you intend to leave the car in a stock configuration, a Wideband 02 is not necessary. You could just remove the gauge to clean things up. If you have to replace it with another gauge, find a quality Oil pressure or Temp gauge.

Alright thanks guys I figured that was gonna be the route to go since ill have 2 open spots on the pillar, I just had to get a new small 16g and haven't had a chance to stick it on yet still waiting for a few more things to get here but like I said I'm not planning on doing anything with it yet

Like others have said, a quality Oil Pressure or temp gauge is a good way to go. If you don't have a decent vac/boost gauge, I'd do one of those too.

Alternatively, you could opt for one of the Scangauge-like gauges. Some can actively display 4 data feeds at a time.

A small 16G and a few other things leads me to believe that you will be modding the car in the near future? :hmm: If you plan to play with bigger than stock turbo's a Wideband is a worth while investment that should be made.

When I bought the car it already had a small 16g on it with a fmic and full exhaust

Then this means your car is no longer in a stock configuration. This upgrade coupled with the MBC, BOV (Recirculated?) and exhaust listed in your profile, means you are already moding the stock configuration.

You should really consider a wideband and a quality boost gauge to fill those empty spots in the pillar. Both of these gauges will be NEEDED when you start using the parts; changing the boost pressure and airflow from stock.

OK I've got a autometer vac/boost gauge that wasn't hooked up properly when I bought the car but its wired up right now and does have power, of course I won't know for sure its working until I get the car put back together but I'll look into a wideband as well.
