Why don't people trim their radiator hoses?

I have an observation I can't explain. Why do people install their radiator hoses right out of the box without trimming them? Then you have this huge kink at the bends instead of a nice smooth radius? Is this not common knowledge? I see it all over the place but it seems to be very prevalent in DSMs for a long long time. I don't get it.

I've never trimmed mine, oem always seemed to be perfect

Seems to vary by brand. Dayco hoses almost always need to be cut. Continental hoses I've never had to cut. I pretty much stick to silicone hoses these days though.

To be honest. No. Ive never heard that or come across having to do that. So I wouldnt have known. But if the hose had kinks in it after installing, then I would probably realize that after getting everything buttoned up and come up with a few choice words to express my anger before ripping it apart again and cutting the hose to fit 😅. Ive done that with the intercooler couplers and of course some of the other smaller cooler hoses and such, but with radiator hoses, I guess I made the assumption that they were already cut to fit if you ordered it for a specific application.

I've seen this in pics on here too. I didn't have to trim my hoses, but I did need to find the right combination of parts when working with a 1G water neck in a 2g. Generally 2G hoses can work, but the lower hose and the shifter weight on a 2G MT is in conflict.
