Who is running BC 280's

I have a set of new 280's laying around and am in the process of puting together a 1Ga Talon to sell (building from spare parts). I am trying to decide if I should throw in the 280 and tune and sell as a tuner car. Soo I was woundering if anyone is running these in a lightly moded car.

This car has the folowing mods:
-3" megan racing turbo back exhaust (manderal bent)
-Small 16g
-walbro 255 (I think have to check with previous owner)
-balance shafts removed
-slowboy racing stage 2 or 3 (once valves are replaced)
-Act 2600
-after market cast exhaust manifold (biger runners than stock)
-vaccume delete
-EGR delete
-Apexi Super AFC (currently not operational internal issues)
-450cc injectors But I have 550's and 750's laying around
-manual bost controler
-2-2.5" aluminum upper intake pipe and 45 degree tb elbow (cant rember brand but its a good one)

This car may not count as lightly moded but I DO NOT want to do any computer work to this car. If I can get the AFC working again I will but it maight be fried. I need to sell this car to get at least the money I have in parts I am not worried about all the labor. I started off in one direcion with a previous project but have gone in a differnt direction and have too many unused parts just siting around.
Any help and sugestions will be greatly appreciated.

I highly recommend to use upgraded valve springs and retainers with the 280 cams other wise you could float some valves.

besides the springs and retainers i personally would think the small 16g would run better on stock cams...

Yeah if I put the 280's in I would get the bc0100 springs Like I put in my slowboy stage4 I want to run 288's in my project.

You need a good size turbo to utilize the 280 cams.

Already ordered BC 280cams and now they seems not as good as DSMers talk they are...
How different are BC280 vs BC288..May I except bigger HP gains in higher rpms..anyways Iam looking to turn like 9.5k rpms..its drag car with 80lb turbo.What about springs,may I use single springs when need turn 9+k rpms? or Do I have to use beehive duall springs?

i made 375hp on a small 16g and stock bottom end with these cams and 445hp on a 18g sl2. mods in my pro. full boost by 4k, 28psi and the car idles at 750-900rpm like a champ.

I had BC 280 cams in for about a week, I swear it felt like I had a hole in a charge pipe, or I had lost a whole liter of displacement. The car had NO power at all below 3000 rpm, as in when starting off from a light, it felt like I left the handbrake up. It was really annoying. When the car was cold, it would NOT idle without giving it some gas (before this, with my FP2 cams I never ever had an even slight idle problem ever). When warmed up they sounded very mean though. Anything below 2500 rpm in gear the car would jerk back and forth.
I figured that all this low end power loss would come with big top end gains, but wrong again. Lost airflow and power up top too. Not huge, but the loss was still there. I triple checked the base timing and did another boost leak after putting in the 280s and all was fine.

Swapped the FP2s back in and never looked back. I guess the 280s were degreed way off (didn't have adjustable cam gears).

Adjustable cam gears are your friend with these cams. A little tweeking and you can have a 272-like powerband with these cams. I like the middle ground between 212 duration add 223+ duration cams that these provide. I've not run them on my car, but one I've tuned and another aquaintance's car with these both responded the same. They need to be 'adjusted' a little to get the most out of them. We never used a degreeing wheel, but I suspect they weren't ground "straight up" according to the original specs.
