Ok, I just completed my awd swap. Rear end/ gas tank is done, and tranny/ transfercase/ driveshaft is done. I have the car up on jackstands, the whole car is off the ground. The wheels are still off as well. My rear end is an lsd too. I started the car and all was good. I put it in first and to see if the clutch/ tranny was working properly and let the car run in first at about 1500 rpms. My buddy said that both the rear wheels and the front driver side wheel was spinning but the front passenger wheel was not spinning. And that the front wheel was spinning a bit faster than the rear ones. I *think* the difference in the spinning is due to the gear ratios? Is this correct? And is there something wrong with the front passenger wheel not spinning? The only thing I could think of was there is an lsd in the rear and not in the front. Or maybe the brake pad was hanging it up or something. We cut the car off and the rotor and axle both spin on the passenger front. Is this normal or is there something wrong with the trans? Thanks guys

Try stopping the front wheel that's spinning and see if the front passenger starts spinning. It's still open diff in the front so completely stopping one side should transfer over to the other. But that's weird it doesn't split the difference when no load is presented.

Front is an open diff, and the passenger wheel just has more drag and/or just didn't want to start spinning; the driver's side spins faster because of the nature of open diffs when one side isn't moving. It's normal and doesn't take much resistance to make power be sent to only one wheel. Slow the drivers side down and the passengers will start to move.

Ok, this will make me sleep much better. It is a stock transmission. How should I go about slowing down the front driver side to make the passenger side start turning? The wheels arent on so should I just put some pressure on the rotor? Would this also make the front wheel that is turning turn faster than the rear wheels? Thanks

You shouldn't need to do anything. Why do you need to know if both sides will spin? The front and rear are 50:50 split so there isn't any need to know if the rear will spin faster than the front it isn't under load.

An open front differential will turn the wheel with least resistance.

Well I havent drove the car yet because I still have to get the rear driveshaft bracket welded on. I only have it riveted in place at the moment and was making sure everything was working correctly.
