which valve cover gasket engine unknown

ok ive been getting my car slowly back to where it should be. the valve cover started leaking a little oil around the gasket and i wanted to paint the VC blue to match everything on the engine now. i went to oreilly and they said the gasket was different for the 90-92 and the 93-94. my car is a talon tsi from 93. but when i changed the oil filter i had to use the oil filter that fit the 90-92 . the engine has numbers on the timing belt cover saying it was compression tested so im guessing it was put in after the car was bought. i didnt wan to get everything ripped apart to find out i had the wrong gasket and have to wait longer. the pictures of the gaskets look the same but im not chancing it this time. any help is appreciated thanks.
P.S. on a side note what made the 90-92 differ from the 93-94?

If its a 4G63 then its the same from 90-99.

ok i was just making sure because it had a different part number and the price was different between them.

looking at oreilly again it has the same number for 93-99. does it make a difference on the 90-92?

VC gasket kit is the same for all 4g63 years. The only difference with thenoil filter is the 1g is a shirt stubby one while the 2g is a longer skinney filter. On the timing best parts, the auto tensioner is different betweenthe 6 bolt, 1g 7 bolt, and the 2g 7 bolt.

89-92 prduction dates are going to be 6 bolts. 92-94 will be a 1g 7 bolt. 95-99 will have a 7 bolt if it's a turbo model. Non turbo 2g is a 420a and a NT Spyder is the 4g64.

but with the oil filter the 93-94 is a 1g. and it has the long skinny filter. mine has the short stubby one. does this mean i have a 6 bolt?
