Which NGK plugs do you run?

I would like to put some new plugs in right away since there is Bosch in there, i know( i didnt put them in). I always been running the standard BPR6ES plugs but which do you guys prefer between the NGK BPR6ES and the NGK BPR6EKN plugs?

The es is the single tip and the kn is the dual tip plug. Is the dual tip plug just a show plug and not worth the double price or is it actually a better plug?
 
I use BPR6EY with the grooved electrode to give me a fatter spark which does pop out a bit more punch than the standard 6ES plugs.

EKN's are a waste of time and money since the spark will only hit one ground tang or the other ground tang.

True though: get rid of the Bosch's in a mighty hurry!

The BPR6 series are way to prone to detonate, you seriously need to use the BPR8 series way better and the same price. This is from experience and research.
 
why does everybody have a problem with bosch plugs? I ran +4s in a few of my other cars before I got my eclipse and I never had anything but good experiences. So what gives?
 
+4's are not for every motor and where the spark only uses one ground tip at a time, it's rather foolish to use a plug that costs more where a standard plug actually does better..

also..+4's uses platinum which is a horrible conductor of electricity - you're better off with copper core plugs for the best current flow.

Also: Mitsu designed the 4G63 setup with NGK's, so why not go the route that was orginally designed for best performance instead of out doing the engineers who knew what they were doing in the first place with plugs that look pretty and out of this world...

?? 8's and 9's ?? Gee, who loves to run very cold plugs unless you're running nitro....

I Googled and i now know the fourth digit is for its heat range. The higher the number, the colder it is. This leads me to my next question.

Would you guys suggest a colder range plug for me?

Mods will be PTE 57trim turbo+Meth injection+18+psi+ supporting mods= What heat range or stick with stock?
 
You'll burn them up stock "6's" in a heartbeat with your application.

Try "7's" and if the porcelain remains too white, then move up to "8's". Most modded up 4G63 users runs "7's".

There really isn't a set answer with your setup since there are still a lot of variables - why you "guess" up the ladder til you find one that works for your application.

Thank you:thumb: . Ill put the "7s" in and run them for a little bit and then pull them to check for color and condition to see if i require "8s"
 
Dude just stick with stock plugs...unless you have some VERY heavy mods done... there's no point in ANYTHING other than stock... nothing you can run that will give you more hp or better gas mileage colder warmer or whatever....NGK is a very good brand name plug. thats what the car came with new.....listen you these guys they know what there talking about....dont get sucked in to advertisements
