I am doing a 6-bolt swap into my 2G 1997 GS-T. Which CAS do I use, the optical or hall effects sensor? Just wanting to make sure I get the right one from the start. And is it plug-an-play or do I have to splice it into my system?

you can use any 1g cas but the best one to use would be the 93-94 black top hall effect. As for the harness, you can make one using a 1g cas pigtail along with the plugs from your cam and crank sensors or you can order one from road race engineering for $70

Ok, I think I'm just stupid here, but let me ask you this and clear it up for me.....
So take the connectors off the harness side of a 1G as well as the CAS? Then just use that to splice into my harness on the 2G? Or am I out in left field hereWTF ? Anyone have a pic maybe or an illistration of any kind? Guess it's because I haven't actually seen the stuff and all the parts to do the conversion.....visually learning things is always better!
thanx,

go to roadraceengineering.com they have a detailed layout of how to wire in your CAS I used the same one and had no problems

ok, well I'm gonna use the '93-'94 black-top CAS......should work the same. But you still need the harness side of the CAs too, right? The 2G sensors are 3-pin and the 1G is 4-pin.....so I need to find a scrapped 1G and get the harness with 4-pin connector also, correct? And lastly, does it have to be a turbo, or can it be any 1G in general?
thanx,

You still need the harness side from a 1g, when you go to cut it, make it as long as possible so you have a decent amount of wire to work with. You can use any 1g pigtail from any 2.0 turbo or N/A except for the 90 as they hook up opposite from the rest of the 1g's If you didnt find it, here is the link on how to wire it into a 97 ecu http://www.roadraceengineering.com/1gcasin2g97-99.htm
