Which cars had eproms, i have heard other cars like avengers and sebrings and other Chrysler stuff use the ecu our dsm use, and if so which ones?

Can the non eproms be converted to eprom ecu?

Is is the turbo only cars that had the eprom?

Non-eproms cannon be converted. It's a different style chip completely. Because of that, there's no way that the chip can be replaced with a socket for aftermarket chips.

And here's the page on how to tell which ECU's are Eprom, from the inside and the outside.

And yes, turbo ECU's are different than NT's.... for 2g's at least. I don't know much about 1g's at all.

How can I tell if I have an EPROM ECU in my car?

Well, first, the only 2G DSMs with EPROM ECUs from the factory are the '95 models. We have seen a few '95 ECUs without EPROMs, but it's very unusual. You can be sure that if you have a '96+ model, you do not have an EPROM from the factory. To check your '95 ECU for an EPROM, go here.

1G ECUs are a little more difficult in that parts seem to have been swapped around in a number of 1G ECUs we've seen. Some have the original case and part numbers, some don't. To check for sure, you'll need to open up the case and have a look. See here for a description.

But sorry, I can't answer your question about which cars came with Eproms. I have a 2g so that's all that really matters to me. The 95 turbos.

For 1g's its a shot in the dark, some do, some dont. For 2g's all 95's had eproms, all years following did not but the later years (98-99) had the black plastic covered ecus, they are re-flashable like the EVOs.

I don't believe it's true that all '95 turbos had EPROMs I seem to remember seeing non-EPROM versions of the MD312464 and MD309947 ECUs.

I only seen EPROM ECUs from 2 of the 5 versions of 1G 4G63 non-turbo 1G DSMs.
If I don't list a third line with a code like E921 or EB20 than I have seen an EPROM version of that ECU yet. http://simon.chi.il.us/ECU/ECUID.html

The underlying circuit board is the same between the 1G turbo and non-turbo EPROM ECUs but you need a donor turbo ECU for the additional/different parts to convert them and it takes some time to do it.

While there was some Chrysler branded Mitsubishi cars that had 1G style ECUs I'm pretty sure the Avengers and Sebrings used the 2G NA (420A) platform. Not very useful to a 1G.

Thanks for the input i can tell how to tell em apart but i am in need off an ecu and i cant find them local so i was just trying to see if i could somehow use a non turbo ecu in a turbo car. it does not have to be eprom but it would help would any other ecu other that out of a turbo car?
