do our turo cars like nitrous?

Cars love nitrous like guys love hot girls...with STD. We all want to hit it but afraid of the consequences LOL

Dsm's are very acceptable to nitrous but before spending money on it think of the refill costs and everything. How much your using, how much per shot, how often you're going to be using it. Easier and more cost effective with the thought of less damage done if you just go turbo. And not to mention your province laws... Some provinces you can't have a fully connected system. the Bottle is just a bottle but if you get pulled over and they see it they have the right to hold you until they get a search warrant and if the bottle is connected you can get fined and/or spend jail time for it being an illegal "off road use only" accessory.

How can anyone say nitrous isn't good? You only run into problems when its not tuned and done properly. Like mentioned above, running a 16g with too much boost for a stock setup can be bad for our cars too. The key is having it tuned and properly installed. Running nitrous vs a 16g might not be the most cost effective way to upgrade, but can be done. And also be careful for people on this forum who haven't played with nitrous and trying to give advice from watching the Green Eclipse blow up.

Yea, but its still pointless. Bottles run out, turbos never do.

i would use meth/water injection before nitrous

Nitrous is fine to run, especially if its a small shot just to turbo spool. I would recommend getting a bigger turbo, and upgrading your inter cooler piping first. As long as you don't spray the nitrous daily, then you should be fine.

I STRONGLY advise you not to run it.
A.K.A. DONT!
It makes your car shit out later in its life. Its like ramming your pistons, forcing them to move faster than they should.
If the car is built to with stand it, then its ok. But I would never run it.

You must drive an N/A DSM.... LOL :p

You do know that car acutally had a 420a right? Movies for you.

Thank you! Thank you! I'll be here all night..

But on the serious side. As long as you have a well tuned/maintained car(meaning no leaks, no cracks, good belts and hoses, ect.) you should be fine. Don't know much about nitrous but I do know our engines(4g63) are built tough and can take a beating. Just read everythin about you topic 5 times and then do it again. Good luck!

i agree.. nitrous is a hell of a time but you MUST know what you are doing! and Running nitrous on stock internal is a absoult NEGIVATIVE... my brother did that once when he was young.... car lasted two weeks and snapped one rod and shot it through the oil pan!
Took the engine apart to take a look and the piston had a chunk gone all the way through it!

Again Nitrous is fun but you have to be careful!

your brother needed a tune for his car...... dsm turbo motors are good for roughly 450 whp on STOCK INTERNALS.... so i dont see how nitrous on stock internals is a no no.. turning up the boost dramaticaly will result in the same.....
so yea ... to the OP ,nitrous isnt bad..... it maybe frowned upon... but by no means bad. u just need a good tune tune tune. people blow there motors on turbos and nitrous. so as long as u have the proper tune currect afr and fuel system to compensate for the sudden burst of O2 (that ## maf didnt account for) then your fine .... just my 2cents (from reading)...

This guy made 521hp on the t-25 and Nitrous!

I said "you", as in the OP. If you have to ask about how safe nitrous is, chances are you won't be putting down 500+whp on a t25+n2o any time soon.

a turbo is already subjecting the cylinders to harsh power.. adding NOS on top of that is just asking for trouble..

Why the need of NOS when you have BOOST. But really what it boils down to is, do you know what your doing and do you know haow to set it up right. Thats all, I still wouldn't recomend it though.

I would most definetly recommend the 16G over nitrous but....an engine is going to respond to a given amount of power regardless of how it has developed said power. An engine putting out 350hp is an engine putting out 350hp; doesn't matter to the engine if this is via nitrous adding oxygen allowing an increase in power or a turbo increasing air flow. As someone had stated though, there are generally more safety mechanisms put into a turbo system than a nitrous set up. Not to say that nitrous is dangerous, just more "unstable" than a turbo.

Good luck with the 16G!

ok so what i have gathered is with spray you are forcing your engine to produce more rpm's in a quicker time? while a 16g is doing the same thing but safely?

ROFL
ya that's what I got out of it too.

HP is HP and extra air is extra air.
The nitrous is cold though, it's going to add even more HP then the shot when combined with the cooling effects it will have on the turbo's air.
I say go with the 16g just because the bottle runs out, but this thread is teh funny.
