Which alternator is correct??

I have a '94 Eagle Talon TSI Turbo AWD 5-speed and I'm in need of a new alternator. I have read and heard different info as to which alternator is the correct one.

I'm pretty certain that I need a 75 amp. But people have also told me it could be the 65 or the 90 amp. From what I read, the 90 amp was used in cars from Canada, which mine is not.

I'm trying to find a cheap used one, so i don't have to spend $100 on a new one, since i'm not exactly sure that is the problem with my car.

Can someone please help?? I want to do this right the first time. thanks!!

Any 1g 7 bolt 4g63 alternator will work. At 2g wont work because the mounting brackets are too skiny.. The 1g mounting brackets are wider.. The 90 amp is an automatic alternator where the 75 is the manual..

Either the 75 or 90 amp will work. They bolt up the same.

Thanks for the help...I'm getting a 75 amp today and i'm going to be installing it on Sunday.

When the car died, the ignition fuse blew while driving on the interstate. If my alternator crapped out, I'm assuming it would have caused the ignition fuse to blow.

Is it possible that a new alternator could be the only thing wrong and not causing the car to start???? I have lots of spark and fuel. I'm hoping she fires up after i get it on!! Any other ideas??

The altenator is definatly NOT the cause of the car not starting. Your car starts off the battery then the altenator provides power once the car is running.
