Hey guys I'm having some hard time to figure out whre to bolt the bracket for my front and rear mount (on the engine) ... I removed them maybe 2 monts ago so I don't remember where they go ... A picture will be really appreciated.
Got a 95 TSI AWD and manual ...

Please help me fast ...

Maybe I'm trying to put the rear bracket in front and that's why I'm having such a hard time ... ? =/

No, you definately have three mounting points on the block and one on the transmission. Donniekak is completely wrong.

You have one motor mount that is near the timing belt, one motor mount that is in the front of the car bolted to the crossmember, one in the rear and one on the transmission. The easiest way to go about finding them is to bolt them to the frame and just see where they line up on the block. You should be able to find the bolt holes for the mounts on all four surfaces just fine.

He said he has a '95, which will have 3 transmission mounts and one motor mount. The 1gs use 1 transmission mount and 3 motor mounts.

Might this help?

The brackets get bolted to the transmission. The mounts themselves get bolted to the crossmember (front) and the subframe (rear). And then each mount's through bolt goes through one of the brackets on the transmission.

I was about to go off on this guy. Already had my kill strategy and everything but I see a few ppl already said something. :hellyeah:

I would think with the motor being the heaviest part it would make the most sense to support it the most. The tranny weighs a hundred pounds as opposed to the block/head/mani's weighing in at 400, give or take on both figures.

My vote is really unfounded...and I'm sure the mitsu engineers must have OK'd just one supporting the motor for the 2G...but either way, my vote goes to the 1G mounting system.

Which was is better, or does it any difference for the sake of the entire assembly support - the 1G method of the three motor and one tranny, or the opposite configuration of 3 tranny and one motor for the 2G?

Are you two trying to figure out which the OP should use or just which is better overall? Because you don't have a choice which to use.
