Who has the best wheel fitment/design that looks great/proper for a 2G? I currently have the stock Eclipse GSX wheels but I've seen the GST wheels and I like them A LOT better.

I'm also looking at a few aftermarket designs but want something that looks like it almost belongs, what wheels do people have that look great? I want wheels that say - this is a purpose built track car. Meaning 18 inch wheels with rubberband thin tires are a nono. id go 17" in a proper race tire size or even 16" but im trying to figure out if factory evo brakes will fit too, thats the next upgrade ill be doing

I always thought the EVO 8 and 9 wheels looked very natural on a 2G. I had them on my 97 for about 12 years. Finally switched it up last year to a set of Enkei's.

this is pretty much the size of rim and tires i want, meaty tires but rims not so big they ruin the ride. the car is meant for weekend track days

perfect man, thanks for the reply, so i like the wheels in the first post if you have the info on them thats my starting point. your newer wheels do look really nice but they're more of a open look and sort of got like a show fit to them you know? your first rims have the meaty tire look, properly spaced around the brakes etc. what brand are they and what size tire are they? (edit) i just realized you said evo8/9 is that what they are? i want something in that ball park

They are EVO 9 wheels that I had powder coated. Tires were 235/45/17.

I second the sentiment about the Enkei's.

If you're looking for a purpose built with budget wheels, Evo IX Enkei's are your best bet and guaranteed to clear Evo Brembos without a spacer. Stock Evo wheels are 17x8.

Evo IX Enkei's - 20lbs 3oz x 4 = 80lbs 12oz

If you're looking for purpose built and an aftermarket wheel that won't break the bank, Enkei RPF1's are a good choice. Running the 9" wide wheel with a +35 offset you'll need a spacer on the front to run Evo Brembos. Running the 8.5" wide wheel changes spoke backspacing and doesn't require any spacer.

17x9 +35 RPF1's - 15lbs 6oz x 4 = 61lbs 8oz

Both photos are running the same 245/45 tire and suspension. Either option, you'll need to do some fender clearance work on the rear if you go lower than stock ride height.

97-98 messed up by just deleting the sideskirts. This is the perfect Talon.

I agree. It never made sense to me that they did that. Thank you for the compliment.
I can't decide. I bought the sideskirts. Then I sold them. Just can't being myself to drill holes considering the rarity of the 2gb tsi awd. I do like the look and I find it no coincidence that the rear bumper lines up.

17x9 +35 Enkei PF01 (245/40/17)
18x8.5 +32 Wedsport TC105x Forged (245/35/18)

Anything around 8-9" with around +35 offset works perfect on a 2G.
